Having a "team" was awful. A decade ago it was one person, this time it was 4-6 depending on what they needed. My team did not do a great job of staying in communication or even simply answering their phones. I will not use VU in the future because they played the blame game instead of owning up to their mistakes. Mostly I had put in an email what to do and it pushed back our preset closing date and changed stuff multiple times because they failed to read it until the day before closing. I didn't even get my closing amount until 20 minutes before signing, it should be 3 days prior! Absolutely horrible experience.
Everyone on the team has been great to work with! As a whole, they communicate well and can explain things that may not be common knowledge when buying your first home. Overall a great and seamless experience!

I was amazed at the speed and process that made things go so smoothly. I kept waiting for some delay that would hold us up and it never seem to happen. My experience with VA mortgage was from 30 years ago and it was always a long drawn out process with many delays. But this experience was so smooth. From the time of signing the contract to closing was 42 days. I was expecting 90 to 120 days. Better than twice the speed I was expecting to endure.The VHU team was working like a well oiled machine.
